About

Sandalcast began with a simple, recurring question: are my toes ready for the day, or should they stay tucked away?

The official thresholds: 70°F+ is sandal weather. 60–69°F is socks-with-sandals territory, a controversial but committed look. Below 60°F, your sandals stay home in the dust bag where they belong.

Trip dates more than 16 days out fall back to historical averages from the past three years for that exact range. We tell you when that's happening. Weather data comes from Open-Meteo, which is free and excellent.

FAQ

Why 70°F?
It's the line where most people are comfortable with bare feet outdoors. Push back if you disagree, but the sandalcast must hold somewhere.
Socks with sandals — really?
Really. It's a real strategy for cool-but-not-cold weather and the look has its devotees. Sandalcast is non-judgmental.
How accurate is the trip forecast?
Within 16 days, very. Beyond that, we use historical averages from the past three years for the same date range — useful for trip planning, but not a substitute for checking again closer to your dates.
Do you store my data?
No. No accounts, no cookies, no tracking. Type a city, get a verdict, close the tab.
